Information: Did basic training at The
Guards Depot.Pirbright in 1984.
Joined The 1st Battalion posted to Cavalry Barracks Hounslow
with 3 Coy. Did various public duties Buckingham Palace,
Windsor Castle, St James's etc..
Troop the Colour 1985. I then joined Support Coy Anti Tanks.
Later posted to Oxford Brks
Munster Germany. We took over from the Irish Guards and had some
fun in the local bars .
The Dallas bar ,The Yoval Club and the Long bar to name but a
few, and how can I ever forget the Imbiss wagon on the base
ideal after a few pints in the NAAFI {happy days}.
In 1986 We were posted to Northern Ireland South Armagh
I was attatched to Recce platoon under the watchful eye of Sgt
{Duggie }Dougan a cracking fella we had a good time in NI no
trouble really. The odd drunk and the odd stone thrown. In 1987 It was back to Germany and back to MILAN Platoon [Anti
Tanks} We had a big exercise in Putlos Germany {EX 4th Flight}
It was brilliant I remember we had a stretch of beach to
ourselves, big party and BBQ. Great bunch of lads ...Get In
Touch!
Later that year I Joined Civvy Street to get married

When i left the Army I
tried a few different things, Security, Trainee Publican, Steel
Fabricator and Manager of a Menswear Store. Then I got a
job selling cars. I am now Sales Controller for Perry's of
Bolton
I've been with them over 13 years now {dunt time fly}.
I live in Wigan with my wife Sarah and have 3 children and life
is good.
Other Information
: I am an active member of the Wigan St Helens District Branch
Association. We meet up last Tuesday of the month @ the RBL Wigan. Come and join us!!!!
